Bhrigu Lake Trek

The Himalayas are known to be carved in India history. These mountain ranges carry within themselves stories and values of many great Indian saints who have known to spend their lives roaming and meditating in the Himalayas. One such small place is the Bhrigu Lake. Seated at 14,100 ft above the mean sea level, the Bhrigu Lake is a glacial water body, a high- altitude alpine lake admired for its crystal blue serene waters. The lake is surrounded by the composure of the Pir Panjal ranges and the Dhauladhar ranges of the Himalayas.

The lake is considered sacred by the locals as there have been stories to claim that Maharishi Bhrigu used to meditate on the boundaries of this lake. It is even said by the locals that the lake water hardly freezes which indeed is true to an extent if we consider other high altitude alpine lakes and watch their water freezing at a much faster pace. To trek to Bhrigu Lake we start at Patlikuhal which is located midway between Manali and Kullu. Along the trail there comes Rola Kholi situated at the base of Bhrigu Lake. Rola Kholi is one of the most amazing camp sites to camp at night since millions of stars embed the night sky under which you can have dinner and engage in some fun camp activities, watched over by Deo Tibba and Hanuman Tibba in the background. This will craft one of the best memories to look back to after the Bhrigu Lake itself. Bhrigu Lake trek is a treat for photographers or film making enthusiasts. Honestly it is a treat for any nature lover for the sake of its unyielding beauty.
